Imam rapes 22-year-old lady, shaves her pubic hair

A Muslim cleric is in the police net for allegedly raping and shaving the pubic hair of a 22-year-old lady.

A Muslim cleric, Imam Rabiu Abdulquadri, is by now, regretting the spirit that pushed him into raping a 22-year-old lady; not done with that, he shaved her pubic hair and cut her nails, all under the pretext that he was going to prepare a favour and love charm for her.

Imam Abdulquadri is currently in the cell of the Ogun State Police Command and is telling the police all he knows about the crime.

According to a police report emanating from the command, the Imam committed the crime in his house in Abule-Ojo, Obafemi Owode local government area of Ogun State.

Punch Metro reports that Imam Abduquadri who is also popularly known as Alfa Cisse, had approached the victim who was returning home from her place of work at around 8.30pm on 28 December, 2014.

He reportedly stopped the victim at a roundabout in the Ofada area of the state, with the claim that he had a vision about her and ordered her to follow him to a Mosque to join in the prayers before he could reveal the vision to her.

The victim narrated to the police that while he was speaking with her, she lost all sense of reasoning and unconsciously followed him to his apartment after she had dropped her luggage at home.

During the night, Alpha Cisse allegedly ordered her to strip herself naked and proceeded to shave strands of hair on her head, armpit and private parts, cut her nails, after which he raped her repeatedly.

In the morning, he told her to go home but to come back the following day for a favour and love charm.

Speaking with Punch Metro, the victim said:

"He and some clerics prayed for me. In the night, he woke me up, collected my nails, hairs and slept with me, not minding my menstrual discharge. He said he would use them to prepare a charm for me to get favour.

I did not realise what I was doing until the next day when I returned home and my sister scolded me for not sleeping at home. That was when it occurred to me that I had been used.

He even demanded more hairs when I got there the following day. Since then, I have been feeling weak and I can’t sleep in the night."

According to the victim's uncle, the family has spent a lot of money on her as her health has been failing since the incident.

He said he eventually located the Imam’s house after which policemen from the Owode Police Division arrested him.

It was learnt that the Imam has already confessed to the police that he actually took the girl’s pubic hairs, although he denied having sex with her.

The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, confirmed the incident.

"The suspect was paraded by the state Commissioner of Police, Ikemefuna Okoye, on Wednesday, 7 January, and would be charged to court soon."
