        has it that a young man was recently arrested and arraigned in court by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Warri, Delta state for duping Swiss woman of N81m. Identified as Leeroy Egebe but popularly known as Amedo Dante William and Alhassan Davide, the young man in a court sitting was arraigned on an 8-count charge bordering on conspiracy and obtaining money from a Swiss woman by false pretense. His troubles began when his lover Vivian Varotto-Guigoz, a citizen of Switzerland, petitioned the EFCC alleging that she met Egebe who claimed to be an Italian living in the United Kingdom on a social dating site called, Badoo. She alleged that on several occasions between May 12 and October 14, 2015, she wired a total sum of CHF 196,701 (N74m) and EUR 15, 957 (N7m) to different individuals in UK, Canada and Nigeria at his request, for sundry reasons which she later found out to be fraudulent. Adding the sum of money, Egebe allegedly duped this woman of N81 million. She further revealed that the payments were allegedly made in five instalments, two into British accounts belonging to Amedeo William Dante and Dittimi Tamara-Finide while three were made into Nigerian accounts belonging to Alhassan Davide and Edin Obaro. Adding that, she was reached through English, Canadian and Nigerian phone numbers. After all the charges were read to him, Egebe pleaded not guilty. His prosecuting counsel M. T. The surety must be a public servant in the service of Federal or Delta state government on grade level 12 and above.
